I received my B.A. in Psychology at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA in 2010. While in college I played soccer in a recreational league, was active in a campus advocacy group, and met the woman who would become my wife. After graduation I returned to my hometown of Renton and volunteered at a local food bank, an invaluable experience which opened my eyes to new perspectives.
Later, I attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. During my time in school, I worked at an internship where my focus was helping teens with severe mental health and behavioral issues. I received my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014. After graduation, I moved back to this area and began work at a community mental health agency where I have worked since 2015. While there, I specialized in working both with teens and children. In my work with children, I developed a specialty in play therapy, and a passion for working with kids of all ages.
From my time working with children and teens, I have found that everyone has something amazing and wonderful about themselves! A goal of my therapy is to help my clients find what this is and then utilize it to overcome their challenges and difficulties in life. I have been told that I have a laid back personality and am very easy-going, which has helped me in each stage of my education and work.
